People often ask us what inspired the design of our logo. Designer, Charlotte Browning, created the logo along with a bunch of other promotional pieces for the festival in early 2011.
The logo is firstly a nod to the ubiquitous peace sign - a symbol of God's heart for all his creation, to be at peace, an end to war and oppression.
It can also be seen as a stylized cross symbolizing the "upside-down" Kingdom that Jesus preached. (Historically, an upside-down cross has also been known as the cross of St Peter, but that wasn't the meaning we were implying here.)
You'll also notice that it is green, symbolising God's beautiful creation - which he calls us to steward.
And it is hand-drawn, a bit rough but at the same time, artistic, symbolising the grassroots, creative, down to earth nature of the calling to serve God on the margins of society.
